WHAT IS PORTPLUS?
+PortPlus helps companies hire motivated candidates who are ready to start a career in the port and industrial sector. Our participants undergo an eight- or thirteen-week program, gaining hands-on experience at your company while learning theoretical knowledge from our expert, Ferdi Bakker. After completing the program, they receive a recognized participation certificate of STC Next and are well-prepared to join your organization immediately.
WHAT DOES MY COMPANY GAIN FROM THIS?
+By collaborating with PortPlus, you can hire motivated candidates who are ready to start working in the port and industrial sector. You contribute to closing the vacancy gap of over 8,000 open positions in the Port of Rotterdam. Our program ensures that you have immediately deployable new employees, helping to alleviate the staffing shortage within your team.
WHAT WILL THE CANDIDATE DO AT MY COMPANY?
+During the PortPlus program, the candidate will gain practical experience at your company, applying their knowledge in a real work environment. They will be involved in daily tasks and responsibilities relevant to the role, such as transport planning, freight forwarding, customs operations, or ship agency work. This provides them with the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to your operational processes. After the program, and with a successful collaboration, there may be a chance to hire the candidate full-time.
WHAT WILL THE PROGRAM COST MY COMPANY?
+We operate with a transparent fee structure, where your logistics company covers the candidate's training costs and pays them an internship allowance during the program. If you decide to offer the candidate an employment contract after the program, a one-time fee will be charged.
WHAT DOES THE CANDIDATE'S PROGRAM INVOLVE?
+The PortPlus program is an intensive eight- or thirteen-week course where candidates gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Each week, they attend one day of theory in subjects such as Customs, Transport, Freight Forwarding, and Ship Agency, taught by Ferdi Bakker. On the remaining days, they work at your company, applying their knowledge in a professional environment. At the end of the program, which concludes with an assessment, they receive a recognized participation certificate from STC Next. This program helps candidates establish a strong foundation for a career in the port and industrial sector while providing your organization with the opportunity to hire them for a full-time role.
WHEN DO THE PROGRAMS START?
+The upcoming programs will begin at the end of November 2024. Depending on the program, the duration will be either eight or twelve weeks.
